The awareness and prevention of child abuse is up to each of us.

The awareness and prevention of child abuse is up to each of us.

Many of you will already be aware that April is Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention month.

I have decided to contribute all profits from the sale of my biography “{Empty Chairs} during the month of April to ISPCAN the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect.
http://www.ispcan.org/?page=About_Us

They are a world wide non denominational and non profit organization that train counselors and field officers working amongst the survivors of abuse.

Their main aim is to prevent it from occurring in the first instance.

If you are thinking of purchasing my book please hold off until April.

I am also available should anyone care to have me do a guest blog on awareness and who to turn to in the event you have a problem that needs discussion.

It is undeniably a very difficult topic to approach. Please be aware; I will NOT take part in any witch hunts. This is not what I am about.

However I will gladly offer my time to anyone anywhere that wants to help raise awareness of this world wide tragedy and how to deal with it if ever confronted.

I need to ask... I am a person that has shared some of this and I dont want to use the word survivor as u have said you HATE that word...my question is will you write about your continued Journey to not show where you came from but how you are on your journey. Your journey has certainly not ended but in your dedication you wrote "To the men who tried to love me " yet I see you were successful in having a daughter......that is the bait I'm biting at....I hope you will trust I'm just asking out of continued progression of a journey...Your story is not one alone that I have read but I want to see how you got to be where you are from the end of the book as a very very old 12 yr old.....Please just know I am a fan of your story.....as well as my own,,,Blessings Jodiann

Hello, Jodian and thank you for your kind words and interest.

After a great deal of thought I decided to write Book 2 of Empty Chairs.

It is progressing well, and I hope to have it published before the end of the year, It covers many years of my early life and hopefully I can answer the many questions asked by the kind folks who wanted to know more about my journey. More than that it is my tribute to the crazy, wonderful and very dear friends I made during my years on the streets.

I was so very privileged to know them.

I hope the second book allows those who have asked for more information about my life to see that I am now a very happy woman.
